Marty ReissAt the age of 15, Marty knew he wanted to play guitar. His life-long love of music has taken him from medieval banquets to puppet shows, from summer camps to annual St. Patrick's Day gigs, and from barbershop quartets to teaching guitar at the Valley Music School. Now freelancing, Marty teaches guitar to students of all levels, as well as teaching a variety of musical theory and practice!

Having been trained at Berklee School of Music, Marty is a fountain of musical knowledge! He can teach guitar, how to read sheet music, music theory, tabs, lead sheets, and even the fundamentals of piano. He occasionally dabbles on bass, mandolin, and banjo. Marty is known for tailoring lessons to fit the students' musical interest—even transcribing sheet music for various songs! Add this to over 50 years of guitar, and Marty Reiss is one of the most experienced (not to mention most patient and kind) guitar teachers in Massachusetts.
